Khao Kho. A hidden place that is going to flooded and commericalised very soon.
Nestled in the Mountains of Phetchabun, this 800m above sea level highland has plently of lush greenery to offer. A 5-6 hour drive on thailand freeways brings many locals in bangkok away from reality.

What i would recommend for the first time drivers driving in thailand to drive preferably when the day is not very hot as sitting in front under the sun for such a long period can cause headaches or fever. The best timings to avoid driving are from 1pm to 3pm in the afternoon as it is known as the deadzone by many experienced drivers.
Please get a car with a high horsepower like a Toyota Fortuner which has a 3.0 liter engine as we have seen many cars like the Honda Civic and Accords with some Toyota Camry's struggling to climb Khao Kho's unforgiving steep inclines of road of 15%.
If you are really scared of pushing your car, take a pickup truck. It is one of the locals favourite vehicle and guarantees access into any form of road. Furthermore, you have a ton of space to buy and place your sovenirs.
For non experienced long roadtrip drivers, I would advise to have your lunch in Saraburi, a small town in the middle of the roadtrip up. The town also a has sunflower field for people to rest, take instagram-worthy pictures at their sunflower field during November to January, stretch their legs and have lunch.
Here are some of the pictures from the sunflower field.

Admission is only 10THB and u can spend as long as you want at that location. It really some of insta-worthy spots that only locals know. Time to visit before tourists flock!
Address: Chong Sarika, Phatthana Nikhom District, Lopburi 15220, Thailand
After a long journey of 3-4 hours of driving and you will finally arrive in the lush greenery of Khao Kho.
Here are some of my favourite places that I think are worth going.
1. Blown away by- Khao Kho Wind Farm

I would highly recommend visiting this place from 4pm-6pm where the sun is setting and be able to catch such nice instagram-worthy pictures.
Before I forget, there is actually a giantatic swing with a awesome view waiting for you!

For the couples this a place to be able to take many couple shots here also
For the more adventurous ones there is some stilts that you can try over here. Try not to fall! XD (please do not do this alone is super scary)

Or the slightly less adventrous ones, the go-kart maybe...... (40 THB per kart)

Apart from this, there are also a lot of hand-made sovenirs here too.
Entry per pax: 150THB per pax for tram car into the farm and 20THB for parking.
Address: Thung Samo, Khao Kho District, Phetchabun 67270, Thailand
2. There is a latte on a what?- Pino Latte
If you are looking for some peace away from the mountains, this is one place worth visiting.

Nestled near the two Buddha temples lies Pino latte perched at 960m above sea level.
Renowned for its stunning views amongst the clouds and its incredible sunrises which overlooks the valley below, you have not visited Khao kho without visiting here.

If u are looking for that dragon ball at sunrise this is definitely a place to go for its scenic sunrises.

For the foodies, there are many choices to spoil you for good. Their club sandwiches are worth trying are worth the buck!
3. Khao kho post office

For those who are looking for a sea of clouds view during sunrise, this is a place not to be missed. This a spot that only the locals know and offers scenic sunrise views. There is also a campsite for those adventurous to camp out. For 500THB, you can have a tent to yourself and wake up in the sea of clouds. A slight downfall though, there is no hot showers and the facilities such as restrooms are shared here.
Address: Khao Kho Post Office, Tambon Khao Kho, Amphoe Khao Kho, Chang Wat Phetchabun 67270, Thailand
4. Wat Prathat Phasornkaew
This legendary 5 face Buddha is a sight to behold and is a place worth visiting. Unfournately when we went there, it was not is a sea of clouds. But it is still a very holy place and the views are amazing!!
